Fans of The Young and the Restless will soon be meeting a brand-new resident of Genoa City. Actress Madison Thompson, who just finished up a major recurring role in season three of Netflix's Ozark, has joined the CBS soap opera.
Deadline reports that the Atlanta native will be playing the role of Jordan, a worldly young woman who will prove that there's more than meets the eye. Her first day of filming begins today, and her first episode will air in late October.
"So excited to finally share that I am joining the @youngandrestlesscbs !!!" the actress shares on Instagram. "Thank you to my incredible team (@cleartalentgroup , @valerie.mccaffrey.58 ) and family for helping me make this all possible."
Thompson began performing at the age of ten in a wide range of musical theater roles, from Ariel in Footloose to Wendy in Peter Pan, the latter of which earned her a Shuler Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 2018. In addition to her notable Ozark stint, Thompson's credits include Creepshow, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, Shots Fired, and Major Crimes.
According to IMDb, Thompson is a Presidential Scholar at the University of Southern California and is working toward a Business degree in Cinematic Arts. She is also minoring in Musical Theater and is a member of USC's Women in Cinema Club, an all-female group that encourages relationships between different women at the university who are pursuing degrees and careers in the cinematic and entertainment industry.
Questions are already swirling about whether or not Thompson will continue on at Ozark if she is working on Y&R. Her future connection to the Netflix series remains unclear at this time, but the actress did take to social media about Ozark's fourth season, and her post seems to imply that she will be involved.
"I don't think I have ever been asked a question in my life as much as 'is there an ozark season4?'!!!" she shared. "So happy to finally be able to share that the final season is happening :) & don't worry, we are going out with a bang #ozark #netflix #ozarkseason4 WHO IS EXCITED???"
