When he's playing The Young and the Restless' Connor Newman, actor Judah Mackey is surrounded by a heck of a lot of über dramatic Genoa City residents. But his new role will be just the opposite. The young performer has joined the cast of Stillwater, an upcoming Apply TV+ series that centers on three siblings who have a wise panda as their next-door neighbor.

Stillwater is an animated project based on the Scholastic book series Zen Shorts by Jon J. Muth. Through stories and humor, Stillwater the Panda helps provide children "a deeper understanding of their feelings, as well as mindfulness tools that help them face their own day-to-day challenges." According to Apple TV+, the wise panda also "brings newfound fun and adventure for the three [siblings], opening their eyes to the quiet wonders of the world around them and guiding them to their place within it."
In addition to Mackey, the cast of Stillwater includes James Sie, Eva Binder, and Tucker Chandler.
As for how often Y&R fans might be seeing Connor on their screens, Mackey's Twitter account shared information about how the presence of a child actor on set presents a bit more of a production challenge at the moment due to the COVID-19 safety guidelines in place. Therefore, calls for children in scenes may be fewer and farther between, depending on the project.
"We've been getting a lot of questions like this," his account says. "Yes, kids are allowed on set and have always required a parent and set teacher/welfare worker (provided by the production), meaning additional people on set and testing. Each production follows its own safety protocols."
