This month, Grammy winner Enrique Iglesias will become the latest musician to appear on daytime television with and appearance on the top-rated CBS soap, The Young and the Restless.
Iglesias will appear at the fictional Genoa City night club Indigo and perform "Somebody's Me," the second single from his latest album, Insomniac. The album's first single, "Do You Know? (The Ping Pong Song)," peaked at #23 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart earlier this year. Meanwhile, Insomniac topped out at #17 on The Billboard 200 in June.
While this will be the singer's first appearance on a soap opera, Iglesias has appeared on television numerous times in the past - usually accepting some sort of award. Iglesias has eight multi-platinum albums under his belt and he has sold more than 40 million albums around the world. He has top Billboard's Latin chart 16 times - more than any other artist. Other honors include four American Music Awards, a Grammy, a Latin Grammy, eight Premio Lo Nuestro Awards and numerous songwriting honors.
Iglesias is currently on the first leg of his world tour in support of Insomniac with already sold-out stops slated for London, Copenhagen, Johannesburg, Lisbon, Moscow, Munich and Stockholm.
Iglesias will make his daytime television debut on Wednesday, November 7th.
