The first week of material by Days of our Lives' new head writing team, Dena Higley and Ryan Quan, gave the show a much-needed ratings boost. Unfortunately, both The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful tied all-time lows.

Congratulations are in order for Days of our Lives, which managed to grow its audience more than any other daytime soap opera for the week of September 5 through September 9.

The NBC soap aired the first material by its new head writing team, Dena Higley and Ryan Quan: a super soapy return of a trio of vengeful villains (Orpheus, Clyde and Xander) that managed to bring an additional 91,000 viewers to the show. The ratings boost pushed DAYS to a total viewership of 2,249,000. Additionally, DAYS gained the most viewers in the key 18-34 and 25-54 demographics, as well as increased in the 18-49 demo.

ABC's General Hospital also performed quite well for the week. The show managed to add 32,000 viewers, bringing its grand total to 2,620,000. GH also brought in 14,000 in the 18-49 demographic, the most viewers in that category than any of the other shows. However, the week marked the 7th time the series has tied an all-time low in the 18-34 ratings share.

Unfortunately, both CBS Daytime soaps had dismal ratings for the week of September 5 through September 9. Y&R saw the biggest hit with 136,000 viewers tuning out. The series also tied its all-time low in the 18-49 demographic and came in negative in the other key demos, as well. B&B lost 59,000 in total viewership, and it hit an all-time low in the 18-49 ratings share. The soap also tied its all-time lows in the 18-49 and 18-34 demographics.
