Emme Rylan chats her final General Hospital scenes; is this really goodbye?

General Hospital actress Emme Rylan opens up about her final moments as Lulu Spencer, who was ushered off the canvas to a long-term care facility after falling into a coma following the tragic explosion at the Floating Rib.

In a moment General Hospital fans hoped was just a made-up nightmare and not an actual fact of life, Emme Rylan made her final appearance as Lulu Spencer earlier this week, wrapping up her seven-year run on the ABC series.

As fans saw play out on-screen, Lulu was another casualty of the explosion at the Floating Rib, which killed Dustin (Mark Lawson) and Dev (Ashton Arbab), and put her into a coma from which she might never wake up. Rylan says that her coma scenes were some of the most challenging she had acted in her career -- and not just because they were her final moments on GH.

"Laying there emotionless while my amazing costars cried over my comatose body was one of the hardest acting challenges EVER!," she tweeted of the scenes. "They don't exactly have you practice that in acting school (Thank u to everyone that noticed)."

Fortunately, the powers that be decided not to kill Lulu and instead took the character off the canvas by transferring her to a long-term care facility -- for now, anyway. Because she isn't dead, there is every possibility that Lulu will recover and return to Port Charles at some point in the future. (Add that to the list of 2021 wishes!)

As Soap Central previously reported, rather than staying in Los Angeles and immediately trying her hand at post-GH roles, Rylan decided to take advantage of her newfound freedom and take a fun-filled family road trip. For more about her new adventure, click here.

What did you think about Emme Rylan's final moments as Lulu? How long do you think GH will wait to bring the character back to the canvas -- if at all?
