ABC's The Rookie has cast former General Hospital star Annie Wersching (ex-Amelia Joffe) in a spooktacularly killer role.

Former General Hospital star Annie Wersching brought terror to Port Charles as revenge-mad General Hospital character Amelia Joffe, but her latest role is even darker. The Missouri native is taking on the role of a serial killer in an upcoming episode of The Rookie.

TV Line reports that Wersching will reunite with her former Castle costar Nathan Fillion (ex-Joey Buchanan, One Life to Live) when she steps into the shoes of Rosalind Dyer, a serial killer on death row who takes a special interest in Fillion's Officer John Nolan.

As fans of Wersching and Fillion know, this isn't the first time that the soap opera alums have been in such a killer situation: Wersching's Castle stint centered on her as a prison doctor/plastic surgeon who became infatuated with inmate Jerry Tyson (a.k.a. the serial killer known as 3XK) and went on to serve as his accomplice and lover.

Wersching played the role of GH's Amelia in 2007 before going on to appear in TV series like 24, Body of Proof, Dallas, Extant, The Vampire Diaries, Bosch, Timeless, and Runaways.

There's no word yet on when Wershing's episode is scheduled to drop, but The Rookie, which just got a full season two order, airs Sundays at 10/9C.
