Soaps fans have known that Michael Easton (Hamilton Finn, General Hospital) is something special for quite some time. Now it seems that the rest of the world is catching on.
Easton's film Ultraviolent earned high honors at this year's Barcelona International Film Festival. Ultraviolent, which was directed by Easton and starred his former One Life to Live cast mate Trevor St. John (ex-Victor Lord Jr./Todd Manning), was awarded the Special Jury Prize Narrative Film.
The Barcelona International Film Festival is an awards-based competition created to honor standout films and screenplays with important recognition for their filmmaking endeavors.
Ultraviolent won the Grand Prize Award at the Canada International Film Festival, Best of Show Award at The Best Shorts Competition, and was an official selection of the L.A. Shorts Fest.
In addition to acting and directing, Easton is the author of the Soul Stealer series of graphic novels.
Easton and St. John will reunite once more for a short film called Dreamliner. The film follows the story of a man who believes his wife was aboard a plane that crashed. Easton posted a title graphic of the upcoming short on his Facebook page in February and teased that the film will be "coming soon."
