Michael Easton set to make a dramatic GH exit

Hot on the heels of the news that General Hospital head writer Ron Carlivati has been let go comes word that Michael Easton (Silas Clay) has been let go, as well.

In news that's sure to have both General Hospital and One Life to Live fans weeping, Michael Easton (Silas Clay, GH; ex-John McBain, GH/OLTL) is on his way out of Port Charles.

Daytime Confidential reports that the popular actor has already wrapped his stint at the ABC soap.

A source tells Soap Central that the character will make a very dramatic exit -- one that leaves at least a few Port Charles residents having to explain themselves.

As fans may recall, Easton first appeared in Port Charles back in 2012 as his OLTL character, John McBain, following the cancellation of OLTL. He was paired with Kelly Monaco's Sam in a story that fans loved -- possibly because the two were such a huge success together on the now-defunct soap Port Charles. He was later reintroduced as his former GH alter ego Stephen Clay's brother, Silas, after ABC and Prospect Park entered into a lawsuit and his OLTL alter ego could no longer be used.

With Kristen Alderson (Kiki Jerome; ex-Starr Manning, OLTL) having already left the show, Roger Howarth (Franco) is now the sole OLTL transplant left on the canvas.

In addition to his work on GH, One Life to Live, and Port Charles, Easton also appeared as Tanner Scofield on Days of our Lives in the early 1990s.
