Now that he's taped his final scenes as The Young and the Restless' Billy Abbott, Billy Miller has opened up about what led to his exit from a role he'd played for six years. Miller, who also appeared on All My Children, has won two Daytime Emmys for his work on Y&R.

It's been nearly five months since Emmy winner Billy J. Miller made his final appearance as Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless. Now, there's word that the actor is headed back to daytime... as part of the General Hospital cast.

"Billy Miller. General Hospital. Done deal? This is what I'm hearing," TVGuide Magazine's Michael Logan posted on Twitter.

Miller's name has been bandied about -- most often as a new Jason Morgan -- for a General Hospital role ever since fans learned that Miller would be exiting Y&R. In November 2013, fans were stunned to learn that Y&R had put out cloaked casting calls for the role of Billy Abbott in the event that contract talks with Miller failed. Ultimately, Miller declined Y&R execs' final offer on a new contract, something Miller would later call "the hardest thing I've ever done."

If Miller does end up joining the already star-studded General Hospital cast, it would be the latest tit-for-tat casting battle between the ABC soap and CBS's The Young and the Restless.

In January 2013, Y&R lured long-time GH favorite Steve Burton (ex-Jason Morgan) to play the newly created role of Dylan McAvoy.

Last month, GH viewers were stunned by the surprise appearance of former Y&R star Michelle Stafford (ex-Phyllis Summers). As has been the case with Miller and the fictional Jason Morgan, Stafford's name had unofficially attached by fans to the role of Nina Clay for some time. While Stafford's addition to General Hospital wasn't shocking in itself, the unheralded, cliffhanger manner in which GH revealed it was.

Miller wouldn't necessarily have to play Jason Morgan, and Internet speculation has suggested that he could also take on the already-established roles of Lucky Spencer or Dillon Quartermaine.

ABC has not issued a formal statement indicating whether or not Miller has join GH.
