Amber Tamblyn becomes Two and a Half Men regular

Former General Hospital star Amber Tamblyn has been hired as a series regular on CBS's hit sitcom, Two and a Half Men.

Amber Tamblyn (ex-Emily Quartermaine) will be joining Two and a Half Men full-time. Tamblyn was originally announced as a guest star on the popular series where she plays Charlie Harper's illegitimate daughter. Her first episode aired on September 26, 2013. According to Variety.com, Tamblyn has now been promoted to a series regular.

Tamblyn originated the role of Emily Quartermaine on General Hospital in 1995. Monica Quartermaine befriended Emily's mother who, like Monica, was undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Monica and Alan adopted Emily after her biological mother's death. Tamblyn remained on the show until 2001, when her character was paralyzed in a train accident and left Port Charles to recover. The role was later recast.

Not long after leaving General Hospital, Tamblyn took on the title role in the TV series Joan of Arcadia, which aired from 2003 to 2005. In 2004, she was nominated for both a Golden Globe and an Emmy for that role.

Two and a Half Men also stars Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer. The show airs Thursdays on CBS at 9:30pm Eastern/8:30pm Central.
