Wagner back as GH's Felicia

Nearly a year after her surprising and unheralded exit from General Hospital, Kristina Wagner (Felicia Jones) is headed back to Port Charles.

General Hospital executive producer Jill Farren Phelps announced Wagner's return in a statement. "An upcoming main storyline of the series afforded an opportunity to bring back the core character of Felicia," Phelps announced. Of Wagner's return, Phelps said she was pleased to welcome back "an industry veteran who portrayed the character so deliciously in the past."

Wagner last aired on February 13, 2003, ending an 18-year run with General Hospital. It wasn't until a month later that the network confirmed that it and the actress has parted ways. Wagner's character was quickly explained as having left town, but long-time viewers felt cheated out of an official farewell for the actress.

"It was an amicable split," a General Hospital spokesperson said at the time. "She wanted to pursue other projects, and we wish her all the best."

During her time away, Wagner focused on her own production company. Rumors that she and husband Jack Wagner (ex-Frisco Jones; Nick Payne, The Bold and the Beautiful) would be reunited on screen at CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful surfaced, but were repeatedly denied by CBS execs.

Now, however, General Hospital scribes have crafted a storyline that will allow Felicia to return to Port Charles. The show has not yet confirmed whether Wagner will be on contract or recurring status upon her return.

Wagner's first airdate is March 1st.
