The holidays have come early with the new Vudu film Christmas on the Range, which stars daytime veteran A Martinez (ex-Eduardo Hernandez, Days of our Lives; ex-Dr. Ramon Montgomery, The Bold and the Beautiful; ex-Ray Montez, One Life to Live; ex-Roy DiLucca, General Hospital).

Daytime fans who are itching to get on with the holidays already will want to head to the streaming service Vudu and check out Christmas on the Range, a gift of a film that stars daytime veteran A Martinez (ex-Eduardo Hernandez, Days of our Lives; ex-Dr. Ramon Montgomery, The Bold and the Beautiful; ex-Ray Montez, One Life to Live; ex-Roy DiLucca, General Hospital; ex-Cruz Castilla, Santa Barbara).

The holiday movie follows Erin Cahill (ex-Cassandra, GH) in the role of Kendall Riley, who is fighting heroically to save her family's ranch despite constant threats from her ambitious neighbor, Brick McCree (Martinez). In a surprising turn of events, Clint McCree (Nicholas Gonzalaz), a veterinarian and her neighbor's son, arrives on the scene to deliver a calf from a cow having trouble giving birth. Gradually, a romance blossoms, until her neighbor's henchmen scatter Kendall's herd, and she wonders if Clint's concern is genuine or if he is part of his family's effort to sabotage her land. Filled with action, adventure, and emotion, the modern-day Western provides an engaging tribute to small towns, big dreams, and the power of love.

Martinez took to social media to tease his role as rich rancher Brick in Christmas on the Range, who he describes as "sick and lonesome by equal terms." The actor also shares that the film is "a timeless story, beautifully told -- and very highly recommended."

Martinez has a rich history in daytime, beginning with the role of Santa Barbara's Cruz, which he played from the show's debut in 1984 until 1992, winning a Daytime Emmy for his work in 1990. From 1999 to 2002, he played the role of mobster and FBI informant Roy DiLucca on General Hospital. Martinez joined the cast of One Life to Live as Ray Montez in 2008 but was written out less than a year later. He then went on to take the role of The Bold and the Beautiful's Dr. Ramon Montgomery, which he played sporadically from 2011 to 2012. His latest daytime role was that of Days of our Lives' Eduardo Hernandez, which he played from 2015 to 2017.

As for whether or not Martinez will step back into his daytime shoes, the actor recently told Soap Central that he expects to one day reprise the role of DAYS' Eduardo.

"I don't know if that's irrational or not, but I do expect that at some point in time, they will decide to bring Eduardo out of prison," he said. "[The character's] children are still there, and there is that relationship [between Eduardo and Lauren Koslow's Kate] there, so we could see what's going on with that. I'm very open to it. I love working in daytime."
